Who was Andy Warhol?

Andy Warhol

Illustrator Andy Warhol was one of the most prolific and popular artists of his time, using both avant-garde and highly commercial sensibilities.

Andy Warhol was born in August on the 6th of 1928. He graduated from the Carnegie Institute of Technology then moved to New York City. His claim to fame started in August 1949 when he had to illustrate an article in the "Glamour Magazine". He is also famous for painting "Campbells' and Watties' soup cans." He went on to become well known in the "Pop Art movement", in which anything was often used as material. An example of one of his most famous photos was a colourful portrait of Marilyn Monroe. He did many self portraits of people and celebrities, also many of himself. He died 1987 in New York City from Cardiac dysrhythmia.

In Photography: To create his silkscreens, he created images or had them made by his clever people he knew. These photographs was taken with a certain type of Polaroid. The company even kept them in production just for him. This method he took had a great affect on Art at the time. Andy Warhol always had other photographers with him, and he took lots of photos of Factory visitors and personal people.
